This website was developed in order to showcase the Canis brand while at the same time showing that were not all business, but we have a fun side. To ensure this goal we kept the style fresh and uplifting with a sharp combination of monotone dark colors with blue, and we inserted images that were fun and kept consumers on the page. The overall website is simple and easy to navigate again, so the consumer has a positive time using the webpage.
The main goals of the webpage were to be a simple, professional, and fun product. I kept most of the pages small and simple and didn’t over fill them so that the content viewers are seeing is important. As stated above the color choice was intended to look sharp, but also engaging enough to get the viewers to stay on the page. The choice of font also kept this theme with the use of Tahoma for the headers and times for the larger body of text. It was important to keep the fonts the same to bolster fluidity. The image choices and use of easy navigation buttons were to ensure that the viewer and potential customer enjoyed their time on the webpage.
Stylistically speaking this website could use a lot more interaction built into the CSS file. For instance, on the testimonials page I could include overlays on the images, or on the products page I could inject more media and information on the products. Styling and creating an interactive webpage take time because a lot of the elements need to be isolated into divs and formatted separately on the CSS. In hindsight I might have organized my CSS better or used separate CSS files for each page. I started to become difficult to view all elements on one page. What I would really love to do is add JavaScript features in and possibly a way to collect data and store it into a MySQL database(which is what I’m doing at work).
